The Lincoln Institute for Health has been supporting this years diabetes week through a number of events discussed below. For 2016, Diabetes UK are focusing on the realities of living with diabetes, inviting people to share their stories on the truth about diabetes, designed to dispel some common myths surrounding the  condition.

Wednesday 15th 2016 

University of Lincoln

Dr Ffion Curtis led a research development seminar discussing the effects of exercise on diabetic retinopathy. NHS colleagues from the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service were in attendance alongside colleagues from within the University of Lincoln.

Saturday 18th 2016

Swansea University

Dr Ffion Curtis is leading a talk, promoting exercise in pre diabetes and type 2 diabetes, the event is titled ‘Diabetes, Exercise- The Truth’. The event is open to all, attendees will hear about the latest research and gain advice on how exercise can help manage the condition. The event is organised by the Diabetes Research Unit, Cymru  and the charity  Diabetes UK- Cymru who aim to raise awareness and support for people with diabetes.
